RIDE ALL YEAR

WELCOME TO MALLORCA

The perfect place for your cycling holidays

Mallorca is the perfect combination of nature, beaches and cuisine that you need to enjoy your vacations. You can ride here all year long, since the average temperature is 18ºC.

MALLORCA IN AN ESTABLISHED BENCHMARK OF CYCLING TOURISM

Are you a professional or an amateur? It doesn't really matter, in Mallorca there are so many routes you'll find one that suits you. It is not only about enjoying the good weather or wonderful beaches in the summer, you can also enjoy the uniqueness of the island and its warm temperatures in the winter, autumn or spring.

BEST TIMES TO VISIT MALLORCA?

  • Professional teams visit us in December and January when the season of training camps starts.
  • Amateur training camps start in February and run until November, with the peak season being April for spring training.
  • Summer brings more casual cyclists and the influx of sun seeking holiday makers.
  • Autumn is a great time to visit as the temperature is a little colder and the massive tourism slows down.

WHY IS MALLORCA ATTRACTIVE FOR CYCLISTS?

WEATHER

During the months of September to November and January to May the weather is a little cold, but still lovely. It contrasts sharply with the central European weather, where rain, snow and very low temperatures are usual at this time of the year.

ROADS

Mallorca has a 1.250 km. road network and  675 km of these are secondary roads with an average width of 6.5m. This excellent secondary road network offers varied itineraries with limited traffic, something which reflects positively on the safety of the cyclist.

A LITTLE ISLAND

This might be the main advantage, as the island, due to its length, allows both short routes, visiting several villages (the average distance between villages is 10-15 km) and longer routes (150-200 km) extending to any point of the Majorcan geography. There are totally flat routes with spirals and slopes and even high mountain areas should you tour the Serra de Tramuntana.

QUICK FLIGHTS

In general terms, the island is well-connected by air with lots of European cities and flights are not longer than 3 or 4 hours. Also, low cost companies fly here every day, which makes it easier to get to this paradisiac island.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

Mallorca has developed a unique touristic attractiveness, so the island allows its visitors to choose among a wide range of hotels, adapted to lots of different budgets. Some hotels, such as HOTEL AMIC HORIZONTE, offer special attention to cyclists and providing specialised services such as cycle transportation airport-hotel-airport, flexible meal and special menus, storage space for bicycles, gym, pool...

WORLD HERITAGE

Some of the best climbs are located in Serra de Tramuntana, including the Coll d'Honor, which rises about 550m over 8km. There's also an even tougher stretch of road up to Lluc.

The Serra de Tramuntana mountain range forms the backbone of the north-west of Mallorca. It runs for around 90 km, with a maximum width of 15 km, over 20 municipalities, the largest of which are Calvià, Pollença and Escorca—, and covers 30% of the island’s territory and more than 1,000 km2. Several of its peaks have an altitude of over 1000 m, and the highest are Puig Major (1,443 m), Puig de Massanella (1,348 m), Serra d’Alfàbia (1,069 m), Es Teix (1,064) and Galatzó (1,026 m).
